The Chosen Devotional Day 18: Emmanuel

Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty galloons. Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water." And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast." So they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now." This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested His glory. And His disciples believed in Him. - John 2:6-11
  • At this moment, what circumstances are most difficult for you?
Not being able to go out and about because of the "pandemic."
  • How should knowing that God is with you affect the way you respond to your circumstances?
Gives me the confidence and assurance deep inside that I will be taken cared of in every situation I am in.
  • Just as the servants at the wedding had to draw water before they actually saw the water turn into wine, what are ways you can step out in faith as a result of His promise to be with you?
It's really important for me to pray first before I step out in faith to do something that I normally don't. Prayer gives me confidence. Prayer makes me recognize that it's not about me (what I can do or what I have to give), but it's about Him and how He will manifest Himself in my circumstance.
